CaptainsBet Backgammon, Domino & Other Skill Games

captainsbet.com

To set the scene, CaptainsBet’s Skill Games is a small, strategy-focused section, where results depend on decisions rather than luck. It’s presented in clusters of five classics – Backgammon, Hokm, Pasoor, Domino & Belote– all of which have a welcome link to a room.

The room contains tables with a rules button and clear internal limits for the games involved. Select a title, confirm the room rules and limits, and seconds later, you are playing again. No epic introductions, just heartfelt head-to-head battlefield and cunning…

Where is the Skill Games lobby located?

Simply: Open Casino → Skill Games. You will find, alight, excitedly, at a plain grid of sorts, depicting the titles.

  • Backgammon
  • Hokm
  • Pasoor
  • Domino
  • Belote

That’s it. Click a title to enter its room, where you will find a detailed list of choices. Once you select the table you want, you will find the betting limits in ZMW, and you’ll be ready to switch to the rules tab to learn how things go before placing your first bet. Once you take a seat, be sure to check out the rules and limits! The rules come first. The limits are loaded in the footer or limits icon:

  • Choose a lot according to your limit/reducible spend today.
  • Availability – who sits where, Some rooms, you can now enter are auto-matched to you versus opponent(s)
  • House rules – the rules panel of each game’s page is extremely useful and you should read through it to find out everything about variations, scoring, target points & etc.

Backgammon

Aim: Move your 15 men around the board and bear them off before your opponent. Dice control movement, blockades and hits create tactics.

Play and scoring: Games can have a doubling cube, and matches may have a target number of points to play to.

Ideas:

  • Be prioritise strength on the board (get points in your home board).
  • Hit when there are loose blots where it is safe, and don’t give easy second shots.
  • Use the cube if you are clearly ahead, and pass when your chances of losing are strong.

Hokm (trick-taking card game)

Aim: Win tricks for your team. The Hakem (lead) announces the trump (hokm).

Gameplay: Cards follow suit, the high trump wins the trick or if there is no trump, the high played card of the suit leads. Partnerships usually play to a number of hands/tricks.

Ideas:

  • Count the trumps. Keep control cards for hand/use.
  • With strong suits leading from length and support partners’ lead.
  • Do not pull trumps off carelessly if your side has no side-suit winners.

Pasoor (or Basra-type capture)

Aim: To get the cards on the table by matching them in value with the card you play. Certain captures and combinations score augmentation points.

Play: Players put down one card. If its value equals the table cards or the sum is equal to them, take the cards. A clear table usually produces a bonus for the sweep.

Ideas:

  • Keep a track of high values for the cards on the board. Do not help your opponents with easy swipes.
  • Retain for later exact matches to deny the opponent scoring turn.
  • Remember, at the end, the bonuses which are given (most cards, scores on certain card captures) are used in making decisions for trades.

Domino

Aim: To rid yourself of all your tiles or to finish with the lowest count of pips when the layout is blocked.

Play: Players put down tiles that match the ends showing. Doubles may serve as spinners according to the rule variant being played.

Ideas:

  • Lead diversified numbers in order to keep the play open.
  • Count the pips seen and lead your opponents into the numbers that they have little chance of holding.
  • When the game is blocked, discard the high-pip-value tiles early in order to win on count-backs.

Belote (trick-taking and declarations)

Aim: The partnership bids the contract, the trump is chosen and it is aimed to outscore the opponents through tricks and melds (sequences and marriages).

Play: After bidding, the trump suit is fixed. Follow suit, and trumps will be able to beat non-trumps. Melds are made according to the dictates of room rules.

Ideas:

  • Do not bid for want of trumps of a lengthening or good side aces.
  • Respect the belote/rebelote in suitable cases (the trump king and queen).
  • Note which trumps are out, and protect partner’s winners.

Smart setup before you play

  • Budget and session time: Decide on a ZMW stake target and also rooms that guarantee you enough 30–50 base bets of padding.
  • Read the rules part: The variants (scoring points, cube use, meld values etc.) are different in rooms. Verify before you enter it up.
  • Table etiquette: Be concise in chat and polite; oppose <> coaching; wait your turn to act.

Bottom line

CaptainsBet’s Skill Games lobby is simple and readable: Backgammon, Hokm, Pasoor, Domino and Belote are classic strategic table and card styles. Use the game tiles to dive in, check ZMW limits first, skim the rules panel for the variant in question, and go to a room that suits your pace and stake.
